Corporate renaming of stadia has become a feature of modern football. This seminar, part of a series of football-themed events, showcased new research undertaken by researchers at Alliance Manchester Business School and Manchester Metropolitan University, looking at football fans’ reactions to the corporate renaming of football stadia in Manchester, Bolton and Oldham.
Dr. Leah Gillooly from Alliance Manchester Business School and Professor Dominic Medway from Manchester Metropolitan University explored how renaming a stadium can disrupt the connection fans have with the club and the place.
