How does international law contribute to the current problems facing democratic countries? Renowned experts in international law debated this issue and answered questions from the audience.
The Manchester International Law Centre organised a public debate on the question “Can international law safeguard democracy?”. The organisers invited the audience to take part in the discussion and pose questions about democratic governance and international law.
A keynote speech was given by Professor Brad Roth (Wayne State University), a leading world expert on contemporary challenges to democracy. This was followed by a discussion with the audience. The event aimed to foster a public debate about the contribution of international law to current problems of democracy.
