This event explores the phenomenon of human violence and how we can respond to it

Human violence seems to be everywhere. It often feels like we cannot pick up a newspaper or turn on the television without being confronted with fresh stories of violence. But where do the origins of violence actually lie? Are humans biologically driven to violence? Does an investigation of human psychology hold the answer? Should we examine human societies and social relations? And, how should we respond to violence to reduce its occurrence? This event explores the phenomenon of violence through accessible and engaging presentations from three academic researchers, which will be followed by debate and discussion involving the audience.
