About the ESRC Festival of Social Science
The ESRC Festival of Social Science is an eclectic blend of activities designed to celebrate the social sciences. These activities include discussions and debates, exhibitions, film screenings, family fun days, schools visits, workshops, and lots more.
The Manchester Festival is the result of a collaboration between the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC), The University of Manchester, the University of Salford and Manchester Metropolitan University. From imagining later life to exploring how we develop language, gathering ‘lapsed clubber’ memories in Manchester to imagining a fairer economy, the 2018 Manchester Festival will provide an insight into the many ways in which social science research contributes to social, economic and political life across the City, region and beyond.
